Vegetables and fruit diet with Genesis Diabetes Mellitus Type 2

In peneltian diabetes at the University of Leicester, UK with the aim to examine the independent effect of fruit and vegetable intake on the incidence of type 2 diabetes. This study uses a systematic design review and meta-analysis. The source of data retrieved from MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, British Nursing Index (BNI), and the Cochrane library by keywords on diabetes, pre diabetes, fruit, and vegetables. Expert opinions were collected and reference lists of relevant articles examined.

The chosen study is a prospective cohort study with independent measurements on the consumption of fruits, vegetables, or fruits and vegetables as well as data on the incidence of type 2 diabetes.

The results of this research from six studies met the inclusion criteria: four of these studies provide separate information about the consumption of green leafy vegetables. The data show that consumption of green leafy vegetables mostly associated with 14% (hazard ratio 0.86, 95% confidence interval 0.77 to 0.97) reduction in risk of type 2 diabetes (P = 0.01). The data also showed no significant benefit increase consumption of vegetables, fruit, or fruit or vegetable combinations.

From the results of this study can be concluded that increasing daily intake of green leafy vegetables can significantly reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.
